Workshop: Spring Soil Health & Composting, March 30th

Are you growing new soil this year, looked to revitalize tired soil or looking to set up a soil composting system? Come learn more about the seasonal routines that will set your edible growing space up for success.

At this workshop, you’ll learn:
-The difference between synthetic and organic fertilizers and their trade-offs
-How simply you can start composting food scraps to benefit your future plantings
-How to take a home soil test to determine macro and micronutrient deficiencies plus soil pH
-How to interpret a soil test analysis and use the test results to build your soil up organically
-Seasonal routines to build longterm soil health

You’ll leave with:
-Soil test kits for your own backyard or container garden
-Ingredients to jumpstart your own home compost system (chicken manure, rabbit pellets and/or worm castings)

Workshop will take place in the backyard and/or climate-controlled workshop building at our home in Woodland Heights near Forest Hill Park, depending on weather. I will send more specific directions to registered participants.
